Today, I want to talk to you a little bit about 3 benefits I see for entrepreneurs in social media marketing. I know it is not really a discussion anymore if you should be in social media or not.  Just in case: You should be in social media! This post will not cover that :).  Instead, I want to let you know why I think social media marketing is so wonderful for entrepreneurs.

1. Social Networks Change Constantly

One of the biggest benefits I see for entrepreneurs in social media marketing is the fact that the social networks are constantly changing. That is something that you can count on – it will happen. Just recently Facebook changed its layout.  Facebook groups are being more pushed to the forefront and Facebook stories as well. Another example would be Google+.  The social network started, got bigger and then died.  Now, Google is pushing Google My Business as a place where you can market your business. So, the social networks are constantly in flux. For me as an entrepreneur that means I have to constantly pay attention to what is going on in the social networks.  Can I use the new development to my advantage?  Do I need to review and adjust my old marketing strategies? Am I spending too much time in a dying social network?  Another benefit for me as an entrepreneur in the social media marketing space is that because the social networks are constantly changing, a lot of my clients come back again and again.  Their social networks have to be reevaluated and their strategy may change. What is different? How can we use this new development to their advantage? That’s really the question to ask.

2. The Social Space Grows Consistently

The second benefit I see for entrepreneurs in social media marketing is that the social space grows consistently. Yes, it’s true: Some of the networks may not grow as much, but others grow even faster. For example, Facebook really hasn’t grown much in the U.S. in the last two to three years.  Instagram on the other hand has grown tremendously (from 800 million in September 2017 to more than 1 billion users in June 2018). As an entrepreneur in the social media marketing space, you have to look at the growing trends in social networks and use them to grow your follower base.  Also, you may decide to start using a growing social network in order to reach pockets of your ideal client Avatar that you may not have touched before because they simply weren’t in a network you were operating in.

3. The Many Ways And Opportunities To Market Your Business On Social Media

A third benefit I see for entrepreneurs in social media marketing are the the many ways and opportunities social media marketing offers to be successful.

You don’t like being on video?

The blank page just paralyzes you?

You just don’t have a creative streak to create graphics?

You don’t like to listen to yourself?

It doesn’t matter if you like being on video or not, if you like writing or not, if you’re a creative or not, there is a way for you personally to use social media to market your business. There are in fact so many ways to use social media to market your business that there is for sure one that works for you.  Let’s say you don’t feel comfortable on video and you really don’t like writing that much, guess what? You can do podcasts. And on the other hand, if you’re very creative but you have an issue with video and speaking, then just go ahead and create beautiful graphics. So there’s always a way in social media to market your business, no matter what your preferences are.

As you can see, social media marketing brings you new opportunities, new people and new ways to market your business.

Wishing you all the best,

Wendy
